Description

The ureters descend along the posterior abdominal wall toward the pelvic brim, their course implied beneath the abdominal skin and superficial fascia while the epidermis and dermis form the external envelope. Pairing an intact integumentary surface with highlighted urinary organs helps when teaching how retroperitoneal pathology can refer pain to the body wall and why surface appearance alone cannot localize renal disease.
