Description

Dorsal pedal vasculature is rendered over the osseous framework of the male foot, with the phalanges and metatarsals leading proximally into the tarsus and its articular cartilage highlighted in light blue. A superficial venous network courses across the dorsum, coalescing into the dorsal venous arch and continuing proximally as the medial and lateral marginal veins along the respective borders of the foot. Deep to this plane, the expected arterial pathway aligns with the dorsalis pedis artery on the dorsum, running anterior to the ankle and giving metatarsal and dorsal digital branches toward the toes. Relationships read cleanly from distal forefoot to proximal midfoot. Clinically, this dorsal view maps the common access points and risk zones on the superior aspect of the foot.
