Description
Zygomatic process of the maxilla dominates this anterior skull view as a rough, triangular projection arising from the superolateral maxillary body. Laterally, its serrated margin forms the zygomaticomaxillary suture where it meets the zygomatic (malar) bone, while medially it blends into the anterior surface of the maxilla beneath the infraorbital margin. Superiorly the projection approaches the orbital rim; inferiorly it tapers toward the maxillary buttress above the alveolar process. A hard bony landmark.
