Description
Acromial angle of the scapula sits at the lateral bend where the crest of the scapular spine meets the lateral border of the acromion, forming a palpable corner on the posterosuperior shoulder. From a posterior-oblique shoulder-blade viewpoint, the scapular spine runs laterally and slightly superiorly from the medial border, then broadens into the acromion, which projects anteriorly over the glenohumeral joint toward the clavicle. The acromial angle lies lateral to the supraspinous fossa and superior to the infraspinous fossa, marking the transition from the thin scapular body to the thickened acromial process.
