Description
Running along the anterior aspect of the adult male leg (crus), the sharp subcutaneous border of the tibia defines the shin from the tibial tuberosity superiorly toward the medial malleolus inferiorly. Lateral to the tibial shaft, the fibular shaft parallels it in the lateral compartment, descending toward the lateral malleolus and helping frame the contour of the calf posteriorly. Proximally, the illustration implies the transition toward the knee region, while distally the ankle landmarks anchor the relationship between the two long bones in profile.
