Description
Anterior lobe of the cerebellum occupies the rostral, superior portion of the cerebellar hemispheres and vermis, lying posterior to the dorsal aspect of the pons and fourth ventricle and inferior to the tentorium cerebelli. The primary fissure forms a deep transverse cleft across the superior surface, marking the posterior boundary of the anterior lobe as it separates it from the posterior lobe. Folia are tightly packed along the cerebellar cortex, and the midline vermis sits medial to the paired hemispheric portions. Fissural anatomy is the key landmark.
