Description
Second rib anatomy is centered on the costal groove, a shallow longitudinal sulcus on the internal surface of the shaft along the inferior border. From an inferior viewpoint, the concave thoracic (internal) surface is emphasized, with the vertebral end (head, neck, and tubercle) positioned posteriorly and the sternal end anteriorly for the costal cartilage attachment.
