Description
Lamina papyracea of the ethmoidal labyrinth forms a thin, rectangular orbital plate in lateral view, defining much of the medial wall of the bony orbit. Its orbital surface faces laterally toward the periorbita and the globe, while the opposite surface abuts the ethmoidal air cells within the ethmoid bone. Superiorly it approaches the frontal bone and frontoethmoidal suture region, inferiorly it approximates the maxilla, and anteriorly it lies near the lacrimal bone at the lacrimal fossa.
