Posteriorly, the eighth thoracic vertebra (T8) is presented with a long, inferiorly sloping spinous process that overlaps the laminae of the subjacent level, a typical mid thoracic arrangement. Flanking the midline, the right and left laminae converge toward the spinous base, while the transverse processes project laterally from the pedicle junctions. Superior and inferior articular processes sit posterolaterally, framing the vertebral arch and defining the margins of the intervertebral (zygapophysial) joints.
