Description
Cuboid tuberosity dominates the plantar (inferior) aspect of the lateral midfoot in this inferior view, projecting posteriorly and slightly laterally from the cuboid body. Just medial to the tuberosity, the sulcus for the fibularis (peroneus) longus tendon forms a longitudinal groove that courses obliquely toward the plantar base of the first metatarsal, with the ridge acting as a palpable landmark and boundary. The cuboid’s plantar surface sits distal to the calcaneus at the calcaneocuboid joint and proximal to the bases of the fourth and fifth metatarsals, defining the lateral column of the foot.
