Description
Curving superolateral fibers of the arcuate popliteal ligament are presented on the posterolateral knee, spanning from the fibular head region toward the posterior capsule and femoral condyle area, with the fibula lying lateral to the tibia and inferior to the femur. From this lateral perspective, the ligament courses obliquely superior and medial across the back of the joint, crossing superficial to the posterior capsule near the popliteus tendon and adjacent to the lateral meniscus. Articular cartilage caps the femoral and tibial condyles, and the menisci appear as crescentic wedges interposed between them. A dense band.
