Description
Posterior cervical vertebrae are presented in anatomical alignment from the occipitoatlantal region inferiorly toward the cervicothoracic junction, with the spinous processes forming a midline ridge and the laminae flanking them on either side. Laterally, the paired transverse processes project from the vertebral arches, and the articular processes create the zygapophysial (facet) joints between adjacent vertebrae. Two cervical levels are color-highlighted in blue against the surrounding bone, directing attention to a focal motion segment while preserving the overall contour of the cervical column.
