Description
Running along the inferolateral margin of the external nose, the alar part of the nasalis muscle is rendered beneath a semi-transparent dermal layer in a male head shown in strict lateral profile. Its fibers arise from the maxilla just lateral to the nose, then course superiorly and anteriorly to blend with the alar cartilage and adjacent soft tissues of the ala nasi, sitting superficial to the nasal cartilaginous framework.
