Description
Seen on the lateral convexity of the cerebral hemisphere, the inferior frontal sulcus runs anteroposteriorly within the frontal lobe, separating the middle frontal gyrus superiorly from the inferior frontal gyrus inferiorly. Anteriorly it approaches the frontal pole, while posteriorly it trends toward the precentral region, where local branching sulci can converge near the inferior precentral sulcus. The highlighted cortical ribbon emphasizes gyral topography, with the cerebellum and brainstem visible posteroinferiorly as spatial anchors beneath the occipital and temporal lobes.
