Description
Lumbar vertebral body inferior endplate fills the field from an inferior perspective, presenting a broad, slightly concave intervertebral surface bordered by the peripheral ring apophysis where the annulus fibrosus anchors. The posterior margin of the endplate lies adjacent to the vertebral foramen, with the pedicles projecting posterolaterally and framing the transition from the weight-bearing centrum to the posterior elements.
