Description
Anterior full-body male habitus is rendered with a semi-transparent anatomical overlay tracing the urinary tract from the retroperitoneum into the pelvis. Paired kidneys sit high in the posterior abdomen, the left typically slightly superior to the right, with renal pyramids and the renal calyces converging into the renal pelvis at the medial hila. Slender ureters descend inferiorly along the psoas margins toward the urinary bladder, which rests midline in the lesser pelvis posterior to the pubic symphysis; the urethra continues distally from the bladder neck through the prostate and into the penis. This view helps when you need to teach surface anatomy and internal relationships in an obese male, where increased abdominal wall thickness can obscure landmarks on exam and alter the practical window for ultrasound of the kidneys and bladder.
