Description
Running obliquely across the anterior cervical region, the omohyoid muscle is presented with both its inferior belly and superior belly, linked by the intermediate tendon deep to the sternocleidomastoid. The inferior belly arises from the superior border of the scapula near the suprascapular notch and courses anterosuperomedially toward the clavicle, while the superior belly continues from the tendon to insert on the inferior border of the hyoid bone, lateral to the sternohyoid.
