Description
Anteriorly, the second thoracic vertebra (T2) is presented with the vertebral body centered and the superior and inferior costal demifacets set on its lateral margins for articulation with the head of the second rib. Pedicles arise posterolaterally from the body and lead into the vertebral arch, while the transverse processes project laterally and carry the transverse costal facets for the tubercle of rib 2. Superior and inferior vertebral notches outline the intervertebral foramina with adjacent vertebrae, and the vertebral foramen sits posterior to the body. Facets define the level.
