Description
Centered in the mid thoracic column, the fifth thoracic vertebra (T5) is presented from an anterior perspective, with the vertebral body facing the viewer and the pedicles sweeping posterolaterally toward the vertebral arch. Along the lateral margins of the vertebral body, the superior and inferior costal demifacets are visible as paired rib articulation points, positioned for the head of rib 5 and the adjacent rib level at the T4 to T5 and T5 to T6 interfaces. Superior and inferior endplates border the intervertebral disc spaces, while the adjacent thoracic vertebrae above and below provide level context within the stacked spinal column.
