Description
Centered in the frame, the femur is presented from an anterior perspective with the distal end emphasized, so the femoral shaft broadens inferiorly into the medial and lateral condyles and the intervening patellar surface (trochlear groove). The trochlea lies anterior to the intercondylar region, and its articular cartilage is shown irregular and thinned, with patches of exposed subchondral bone along the groove and adjacent facets.
