Laterally and posteriorly, the fissure aligns with the right hepatic lobe parenchyma overlying the segmental (Couinaud) anatomy, with the gallbladder fossa situated anteroinferiorly and the inferior vena cava groove positioned more posteromedially. This angle matters because the right portal fissure is a practical road map for inflow and outflow organization, not an academic line on the capsule.
