Rendered from a posterior perspective, the adult female skeleton is visible through semi-transparent integument, with the vertebral column centered along the midline from the cervical vertebrae superiorly to the sacrum and coccyx inferiorly. Thoracic vertebrae articulate laterally with the ribs, which sweep anterolaterally to frame the posterior thoracic cage while the scapulae lie posterolateral to the upper ribs, flanking the spinous processes. Inferiorly, the iliac crests and posterior pelvis border the lumbosacral junction, and the proximal femora descend from the acetabula with the knees and ankles aligned beneath. Normal sagittal curves are emphasized. Posterior skeletal views like this are where alignment becomes obvious: spinous processes track scoliosis and rotation, pelvic tilt reads at the sacral base, and shoulder girdle asymmetry stands out against the rib cage. Subtle deviations matter clinically.
