Description
Posterior anatomy of the male thigh centers on the deep femoral vein (vena profunda femoris) as it courses proximally within the posterior and medial compartment, closely paired with the deep femoral artery (arteria profunda femoris). Tributaries consistent with perforating veins pass laterally through the adductor magnus toward the posterior thigh musculature, while the vessel converges superiorly toward the femoral vein in the femoral triangle region. Surrounding osseous landmarks include the femur superiorly with the tibia and fibula distal to the knee, providing orientation for the popliteal region and the long axis of the limb.
