Description
Medial anatomy of the right hemithorax brings the right lung’s cardiac impression into clear relief against the pericardium and myocardium. The right atrium and right ventricle lie anterior and medial, with the pulmonary trunk arising superiorly and the ascending aorta curving toward the arch. Along the lung hilum, the right main bronchus sits posterior to the pulmonary vessels, then divides toward the superior, middle, and inferior lobes as the parenchyma thins to the visceral pleura.
