The relationship to the inferior oblique is implied by the inferior quadrant location, even when that oblique belly is not the primary focus. In thyroid eye disease, fibrosis of the inferior rectus limits elevation and produces hypotropia, and an anterior view helps explain why forced-duction testing feels tight when the eye is elevated.
