Running along the lateral border of pectoralis minor, the lateral thoracic vein is presented on the anterolateral chest wall as it ascends toward the axilla. Superficial tributaries from the pectoral region converge into a vertical venous channel that lies medial to the humerus and inferior to the clavicle, then joins the axillary vein near the lateral thoracic artery. Bony landmarks of the thorax, including the ribs, sternum, and clavicles, provide orientation, while the surrounding venous network of the upper limb and neck frames the drainage pathway.
