Seen in a sagittal cut section of an adult male skull, the falx cerebri forms a vertical midline dural septum descending from the inner table of the calvaria toward the cranial base, separating the right and left cerebral compartments. Along its attached superior convex margin, the superior sagittal sinus tracks between dura and calvarium, while the free inferior margin contains the inferior sagittal sinus suspended above the corpus callosum region. Inferiorly and posteriorly, the falx blends toward the tentorium cerebelli and the internal occipital region, with adjacent cranial base foramina and the facial skeleton (maxilla, teeth, and part of the mandible) included for bony orientation.
