Description

Curving laterally from the thoracic vertebrae, the right ribs form an elastic cage around the thorax while their posterior ends meet the spine at the costovertebral and costotransverse joints. Visible rib morphology includes the head, neck, tubercle, angle, and shaft, with the costal grooves running along the inferior internal border of each rib.
