The duodenum appears as the proximal, broader-caliber segment in the right upper quadrant, curving from the pylorus and sweeping posteriorly before transitioning at the duodenojejunal flexure to the narrower jejunum. Coiled jejunal loops sit more superiorly and to the left, while the ileum trends inferiorly and rightward toward the ileocecal junction, with the large intestine framing these coils peripherally.
