Description
Running along the lateral (radial) aspect of the anterior forearm, the paired radial veins (venae comitantes) accompany the radial artery from the deep palmar venous arch and wrist to the cubital fossa, where they typically contribute to the brachial veins. Superficially, the cephalic vein ascends in the anterolateral forearm and arm, while the basilic vein courses more medially before piercing the brachial fascia in the mid arm. Across the antecubital region, the median cubital vein commonly bridges cephalic to basilic over the bicipital aponeurosis, with perforating veins linking the superficial system to the deep venous comitantes.
