Description
Posterior anatomy of an adult male highlights the brain at the cranial vault continuing inferiorly as the spinal cord within the vertebral canal, with paired segmental spinal nerves exiting laterally through the intervertebral foramina. From the cervical region, a dense plexiform pattern extends into the shoulder girdle and upper limb, while thoracic intercostal nerves track laterally along the ribs. In the lumbosacral region, thicker trunks descend into the pelvis and posterior thigh, continuing distally along the leg toward the dorsum and sole of the foot. Bilateral symmetry is emphasized. A rear view like this helps you teach the logic of peripheral nerve distribution: spinal nerve roots joining to form mixed nerves, then reorganizing into plexuses before running as named peripheral nerves to skin and muscle.
