Centered in an anterior neck view, the paired thyrohyoideus muscles span from the oblique line of the thyroid cartilage superiorly to the inferior border of the hyoid bone, sitting immediately deep to where sternohyoid and omohyoid would normally overlie the laryngeal framework. Superior to the thyroid lamina, the epiglottis rises in the midline, while the cricoid cartilage forms a complete ring inferior to the thyroid cartilage and continues caudally into the first tracheal rings. Within the laryngeal inlet, the true vocal folds are indicated centrally, and intrinsic laryngeal musculature flanks the airway laterally. Clear midline anatomy.
