Description
Colored anterior anatomy of both lungs is presented with emphasis on the pulmonary bases resting immediately superior to the domes of the diaphragm. The right lung lies slightly more inferior on the right due to the higher right hemidiaphragm over the liver, while the left lung base sits adjacent to the cardiac silhouette, with the lingula projecting anteroinferiorly from the superior lobe. Segmental coloring typically demarcates bronchopulmonary segments within each lobe, separated by intersegmental planes that course obliquely and, on the right, also approximate the horizontal fissure.
