Anteriorly, the bladder wall sits immediately posterior to the pubic symphysis, while the base and trigone lie inferior and posterior, tapering into the short female urethra. Posterior relationships are suggested by the expected adjacency of the anterior vaginal wall and cervix/uterus, with the ureteric entry points positioned posterolaterally at the superolateral corners of the trigone. Scale matters. Struvite stones (magnesium ammonium phosphate) form in alkaline urine during infection with urease-producing organisms such as Proteus, Klebsiella, or some Staphylococcus species, and an intravesical calculus often signals chronic bacteriuria, urinary stasis, foreign material, or incomplete emptying.
