Numerous small lipid droplets (multilocular vacuoles) occupy the cytoplasm rather than a single dominant vacuole, and the nucleus is implied as a more peripheral structure compared with white fat. Scattered within the cytoplasm, multiple small purple organelles are consistent with mitochondria, while larger brownish-orange bodies read as lysosomes or peroxisomes depending on the labeling convention. Droplet-rich cytoplasm dominates the central cell volume.
