Posterior lower limbs are rendered with the venous network picked out in blue, while the circumflex fibular vein is isolated in green as it curves around the proximal fibula just inferior to the fibular head. The vessel lies lateral to the posterior compartment musculature and tracks from a posterolateral position toward a more anterior-lateral course as it begins its encirclement of the upper fibular segment.
