Description
Arising from the medial view of the plantar aspect of the foot, the plantar aponeurosis (plantar fascia) is shown in relation to the calcaneal tuberosity and the longitudinal arch, with the lateral band separated from the thicker central component. From this angle, the band courses anteriorly and laterally across the sole toward the lateral metatarsals, lying superficial to the intrinsic plantar muscle layer while remaining anchored proximally to the heel. Tibia and fibula frame the ankle mortise superiorly, articulating with the talus, while the calcaneus, cuboid, navicular, and cuneiforms establish the hindfoot and midfoot architecture beneath.
