Description
Centered on a posterior male lower limb, the illustration traces the arterial and venous trees from the distal abdominal aorta and common iliac vessels into the external iliac, femoral, and profunda femoris systems, then distally toward the popliteal fossa and calf. Running deep in the posterior thigh, perforating branches from the profunda femoris pass laterally and medially through the adductor magnus to supply the hamstring compartment, while superficial venous channels track more superficially in the subcutaneous tissue.
