Description
Positioned in the midline of the glabella, the procerus muscle (pyramidalis nasi) is shown anteriorly beneath a semi-transparent dermal layer in an adult male. Its fibers arise from the fascia over the nasal bone and upper lateral nasal cartilages, then run superiorly to blend with the frontalis and the overlying skin of the lower forehead. Laterally, the procerus sits between the medial portions of orbicularis oculi and adjacent nasal muscles, with the nasal bridge skeleton providing the firm deep boundary.
