Superficial layers are reflected enough to expose the trapezius margins and deeper posterior cervical musculature, while the occipital region and upper scapular contours help orient the field from superior to inferior. Laterally, the venous channels track toward the paraspinal gutters where they interface with segmental veins near the transverse processes. Midline landmarks are clear.
