Presented in lateral aspect, the left cerebral hemisphere is rendered with the precentral gyrus (gyrus precentralis) highlighted along the posterior frontal lobe, immediately anterior to the central sulcus and superior to the lateral (Sylvian) fissure. Superiorly, the highlighted cortex approaches the superomedial margin where the precentral gyrus continues toward the paracentral lobule on the medial surface. Posterior to it, the postcentral gyrus of the parietal lobe provides the key sensory-motor boundary, while inferiorly the frontal operculum and adjacent insular region lie deep to the opercular lips.
