Description

Medial surface of the zygomatic bone is presented in anatomical orientation, with the smooth orbital aspect facing medially toward the orbit and the thicker lateral margin forming the malar prominence. Anterosuperiorly, the zygomaticomaxillary surface aligns with the maxilla at the zygomaticomaxillary suture, helping define the inferolateral orbital rim and the anterior boundary of the zygomaticomaxillary complex. Posteriorly, the temporal process projects toward the zygomatic process of the temporal bone, completing the zygomatic arch, while the small zygomaticofrontal facet lies superiorly for articulation with the frontal bone.
