Superiorly, the liver occupies the right upper quadrant, with its inferior margin draping over the pyloric region and proximal duodenum, while the stomach sits predominantly in the left upper quadrant, just inferior to the diaphragm and anterior to the pancreas (if implied). Centrally, jejunal and ileal loops fill the mid-abdomen, framed laterally by the ascending colon on the right and descending colon on the left, with the transverse colon coursing across the upper abdomen and the sigmoid colon descending into the pelvis. Spatial relationships read cleanly. An anterior full-body perspective helps orient learners to quadrants and surface anatomy that clinicians use when localizing pain, masses, and bowel obstruction patterns.
