Description
Semi-transparent soft tissues reveal the depressor supercilii as a short, vertically oriented slip in the glabellar region, positioned deep to the medial eyebrow and immediately superior to the medial palpebral ligament. Fibers arise near the frontal process of the maxilla and nasal bone and course superiorly toward the dermis of the medial eyebrow, lying medial to the orbicularis oculi and blending variably with the corrugator supercilii and procerus. Lateral craniofacial landmarks frame the muscle’s location, including the frontal bone above the supraorbital margin, the nasal bones and maxilla anteriorly, and the zygomatic bone forming the lateral orbital rim. Brow depression is the point.
