Description
Full-body female figure rendered semi-transparently, with the heart centered in the middle mediastinum behind the sternum and slightly left of the midline, giving rise to the ascending aorta, aortic arch, and descending thoracic and abdominal aorta. Major arterial branches track superiorly toward the carotid and subclavian pathways and inferiorly into the common iliac, femoral, and distal leg vessels, while the venous return runs in parallel with a clearly readable superior and inferior vena cava. Peripheral vessels extend into the upper limbs toward the brachial, radial, and ulnar distributions and into the lower limbs toward popliteal and tibial trajectories, establishing an anteriorly oriented map of the systemic circulation. Cardiac silhouette and great vessels dominate the thorax. That low-angle, looking-up perspective puts the thoracic pump in visual command, which is exactly where many teaching and clinical narratives start: left ventricular ejection into the aorta and right-sided return to the pulmonary circuit. For discussions of hypertension, atherosclerosis, and aneurysm patterns, tracing the aorta from arch to bifurcation in one continuous view helps learners connect symptoms (carotid territory, mesenteric ischemia, claudication) to arterial geography.
