Presented in anterior aspect, the paired os coxae are separated at midline, exposing the pubic bodies and the opposing symphyseal faces where the pubic symphysis would normally bridge the gap. Superiorly, each ilium flares laterally from the region of the iliac crest toward the anterior superior iliac spine, while inferiorly the pubis and ischium converge toward the obturator foramen.
