Description
Seen in lateral profile, the inferior labial vein runs within the lower lip (labium inferius) just inferior to the vermilion border, coursing anteroposteriorly in the superficial tissues overlying the mandibular body. Small venules from the orbicularis oris and adjacent labial submucosa converge into this channel, which then drains posterolaterally toward the facial vein at the level of the oral commissure. Nearby landmarks in this side view include the mandible and mental region, with venous connections extending toward the mental vein around the mental foramen. Spatially, the highlighted vessel lies anterior to the masseter region and inferior to the maxillary dentoalveolar structures.
