Across the female nasal dorsum, the paired nasal bones form the superior bony bridge, meeting in the midline before transitioning inferiorly into the upper lateral cartilages and then the alar cartilages that shape the tip and external nares. The soft-tissue envelope overlies this framework, with the nasion positioned superiorly between the medial brows and the dorsum extending inferiorly toward the supratip and tip-defining points. Laterally, the dorsum blends into the sidewalls and nasofacial grooves, while the midline ridge remains the most prominent contour in anterior view. Subtle asymmetry is expected. Surface anatomy of the nasal ridge matters because small changes in dorsal height, deviation, or contour are immediately legible in facial proportion and often drive rhinoplasty planning. A straight dorsal aesthetic line can be interrupted by a bony or cartilaginous hump, a dorsal saddle from loss of septal support, or a post-traumatic deviation where the nasal bones and upper lateral cartilages shift off the midline.
