Description
Sectioned thoracic vertebrae are presented in lateral profile, with vertebral bodies aligned anteriorly and the spinous processes projecting posteriorly in a slightly inferior direction typical of the thoracic region. Between adjacent bodies, intervertebral discs form distinct, pale intervals that mark each motion segment from superior to inferior. Along the posterolateral margins, transverse processes and their costal facets align for rib articulation, while the zygapophyseal (facet) joints sit posterior to the vertebral bodies, forming the articular pillar.
