Across the volar (palmar) aspect of the wrist, the palmar radiocarpal ligaments extend from the distal radius toward the proximal carpal row, blending with the joint capsule as they course distally to the scaphoid, lunate, and triquetrum. Superficial to these deep bands, the flexor tendons traverse the carpal region toward the digits, while the metacarpals and phalanges continue distally in anatomical position. Carpal landmarks such as the scaphoid tubercle laterally and the pisiform medially help orient the viewer to radial versus ulnar attachments. Deep structures dominate.
